It's been 87 years

When I was young, my aunt made me watch star wars.
We were camping at a beautiful volcano.
I was bored.
She had the latest in portable dvd technology.
Thus phase #1 of Star Wars obsession was initiated. My friends wondered if I would ever shut up about it, and I proudly told them, "No."
But I was wrong. I lost the faith for a while. Was I still thinking about star wars every now and then? Of course. How could I forget those plastic men who couldn't kill people to save their life. The forbidden kisses between brother and sister. (Please don't abandon ship yet, I promise that is the weirdest remark that I will make today.)
After the prequels, there was a dark age.
Books weren't cutting it. I read one about Anakin and Obi-Wan pod racing?? The title has evaded my recollection for years. I'm haunted by the book I should never have read.
There were no new movies in sight. The most advantageous film on the horizon was Meet the Robinsons.
My friend and I were determined to carry on the Star Wars legacy ourselves. We wrote a script for episode 7, it took place right after episode 6, and let me just say.... wow. Why weren't we hired for the real thing. Our characters were flawless. Our practical effects plans included build-a-bears as Ewoks, the best money could buy. We casted the entire film at Co-op in the span of a day, and I still have the legally binding contracts to prove it.
Weirdly enough, our film was never made. Maybe that's when I fell from grace.
And then, there was a rumbling. Rumors. Stories.
Episode 7 was on the horizon and I was.... concerned.
By this time in my life I had seen enough movies to know that not every film is a good film, and some films are better left unmade. I feared the worst for these sequels.
It was a gradual return, but I can now say that after watching Episode 9 I am back in the game.
I promise you reader that episode 10 will come from no pen but my own. I already have a title:

S T A R   W A R S :   R E V E N G E   O F   T H E   M E N A C E
A       L   I   G   H   T   S   A   B   E   R       T   A   L   E

Stay tuned for updates.
